Prateek Singhi, is the co – founder of and director at Enviol Biotech. He is an MSc in Management from the University of Bristol, UK. Looking after the overall strategy, execution and management of Enviol, he is also involved in the strategic and operational planning. He is also the director at Samsara Buildtech, a real estate firm headquartered in Ahmedabad.x
Siddharth Singhi, is the co – founder of and director at Enviol Biotech. He is a BSc Hons in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK. Primarily, in charge of leading the development, launch and marketing strategy of Enviol, he also handles commercial operations, sales and project management. He is also the director at Samsara Buildtech, a real estate firm headquartered in Ahmedabad.x
Dr. Harnil Trivedi, is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Enviol. He has done his Ph.D in Zoology from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad after completing his M. Phil. He has research experience in various fields like biochemistry, biotechnology, ecology, fishery and aquaculture. He started his career as an academician and worked in the research field of cataract therapy, vermiculture, biotechnology and mass cultivation of algae. He has an experience of cultivating algae for the use of nutraceuticals and biofuels. Prior to joining Enviol he has also worked for a research project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research to find out the herbal remedy for cataract.x
Nayan Parikh, CEO at Nayan Parikh & Consultants, is a post graduate in Management from the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIMA). He has done his graduate studies in commerce and law. With over 30 years of professional experience, he has been an advisor for strategic management services to an enumeration of multinationals, industrial groups, and corporate houses, helping them accomplish remarkable growth. Moreover, he has also handled government roles with equal determination and panache – he has been an advisor to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for road and water, and also to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh for infrastructure development.x
Lalit Vaishnav has a bachelors degree in chemical engineering. With over 43 years of experience in a plethora of management positions, as well as in fields as diverse as petrochemicals, cement, plastics, and infrastructure; has been on the board of several companies of the likes of Gujarat Gas Company, Gujarat Godrej Innovative Chemicals Ltd, Vijay Chemicals & Plastics Ltd, and Mardia Chemicals Ltd to name a few. He has a proven track record of finding innovative solutions to diverse problems and has also worked on setting up a large scale algae project prior to his joining as the consultant and advisory board member at Enviol.x
Spirulina is a blue green alga which is used as a food supplement because of its high protein content of about 60-70%. It is often termed as a super food and is available in tablets, powders and capsules. Besides protein, it also contains vital amino acids, minerals and vitamins. It is also known to bind with heavy metals like arsenic and aid in their removal from the body, completely detoxifying it. With a high chlorophyll content, it is also an immune modulatory and antioxidative property that has in cases helped in the recovery of HIV and cancer patients.
Beta Carotene is found in various plant and algal species and is a member of the carotenoid group. It is a yellowish - orange colored pigment required by the body to fight against the ill effects of Asthma, Cataract, Age related macular degeneration (AMD), arthritis, heart and skin diseases, among others. Beta carotene is converted into vitamin A by the body. A powerful anti-oxidant beta carotene is known to fight against free radicals. Beta carotene is mainly found in the algal species of chlorella, spirulina and dunaliella and is one of the major sources of beta carotene found in nature other than in fruits and vegetables. These algal species are highly flexible to weather changes and can be grown in regions with high temperature, more average sunlight and high salinity. Natural beta carotene extraction is an expensive and tedious process; however it is the best source for natural isomers, a compound that the human body can easily absorb without known side effects. Traditionally, synthetic beta carotene has been used as a food supplement. However, studies have found that the absorption ratio is higher in the human body for natural beta carotene as compared to its synthetic counterpart.
Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant, naturally occurring in plants and animals, especially marine flora and fauna, such as fishes and lobsters, and birds like flamingos. It is a colored pigment and a member of the carotenoid group. It is known to reduce the oxidative process of the body and scavenges on the free radicals. Moreover, it is used in the therapy of various cancers, eye diseases like cataract and macular degeneration, arthritis and heart diseases, among others. Astaxanthin is ubiquitously used by the food coloration, cosmetic, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries. Found in the Haematococcus pluvialis alga, it contains a higher ratio of astaxanthin while also possessing a unique property to protect the fatty and water soluble entities of the cells. Synthetic astaxanthin is derived from petrochemicals and the structure and genetic make up of such molecules is different than the naturally occurring astaxanthin molecules. Natural astaxanthin is proved to be more effective as an antioxidant compared to its synthetically derived version.
